Our Design Process

A well thought out and properly designed landscape adds to your home's value and selling price. Plantings add beauty, decrease energy costs, (in the summer and winter months), and provide personalized additional outdoor living space to your home.

Please contact us and one of our designers will be happy to meet with you.

 At this meeting, our designer will ask you questions about the project you have in mind.  It would be helpful for you to think of a few pertinent questions before our designer arrives.  Here are a few points to consider:

Hardscaping should generally be completed before plantings begin.

Do you need a patio or deck to enjoy throughout the spring, summer and fall?

Or a walk that will not only be functional all year but will welcome guests to your home and increase the safety of your home.

Outdoor Kitchens and Dining Rooms provide a wonderful setting for entertaining family and friends.

Do you have areas that appear to hold water? These could provide problems in the future.
Do you have the time to maintain wooden decks, pergolas, etc? Or should you consider a patio or awning that will require less maintenance?

Do you need lighting for safety and/or beautiful summer evenings.

Will you be able to maintain and water new plantings, for a minimum of 1 year, or should we consider bed irrigation.

Consider how you will use the space we create. It's important to take everything into consideration, before construction begins.

A very important consideration will be to identify your budget. Certainly, it is hard for most people to imagine what their project will cost. We often hear potential clients say “I don’t know what this project is worth.” We explain that we can usually work within our customer’s budgets to achieve a collaboration of your ideas and our expertise, which, will culminate in a beautiful, functional, professional landscape. Sometimes it’s easier to decide on a yearly budget, rather than a total project budget. To see a few examples, CLICK HERE.

At our initial meeting, after we have gathered all of our ideas, (and perhaps suggested some of our own) we will discuss our fee for designing your landscape project. If you agree, we will ask for a deposit totaling ½ of the fee of the design. It usually takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks for us to complete your design.

VIRTUAL DESIGN: Our all new Virtual Design program, allows us to add your New Design into a photograph of your home, so you can see what your project will look like after a few years. Our designs are a combination of your ideas and our expertise, which can be revised at any time. This will ensure that every fine detail of your needs will be addressed. As your installation occurs, your Designer will oversee the work and additional site modifications can be added, as needed.
